A Vision for a Fearless Economy
It started with a documentary about a Nobel laureate and ended with a question about whether money itself could dissolve. This is my longest-running thought experiment, and I still can't decide if it's utopian or inevitable.
The chain of whys
Everyone thinks, therefore everyone creates digital artifacts. If everyone creates, everyone enriches everyone else. And if we're all enriching each other equally β what does it even mean to pay? To monetize? In that world, the concept of money in the digital space goes away.
The objection, answered honestly
But look around: controversial, emotionally triggering content is what gets consumed. Creators of digital artifacts have mastered that. Doesn't that break the equal-enrichment premise?
My answer, argued to myself on a walk: no β it's a phase. We burn out on emotional waves. "This was the big thing last week, now there's a new big thing, and it's stressful." People are drifting toward long-form, toward podcasts and ideas. Life teaches you slowly; everybody is inching, inch by inch, toward the nicer things. Nobody escapes enlightenment.
Two realities, merged
The picture I keep arriving at: one big reality with two spheres. A physical-presence reality β the small sphere around your body, how far you can walk, what your hands can do. And a mental reality β where you're connected to everyone, tuned by whatever state of mind you're in. When you think certain thoughts, you consume the artifacts of people aligned with those thoughts.
"In an extreme sense, enlightenment means you are connected to everybody β because you understand everybody's point of view, and you're fully there to receive and to give."
Where it gets practical
In a merged world, digital things happen simply because I say things. Talking, sharing ideas, doing β those become the apps. And the pipeline from speech to artifact is exactly what I'm building with slowclaw: one recording becomes articles, podcasts, scripts, book chapters. The economy of that world runs on expression.
Fearless, because there's nothing to guard β you enrich, you are enriched, the loop closes. That's the vision. I'm still testing it against reality, one memo at a time.
